Solitude

Retire from the world each day to some private spot, even if it be only the bedroom (for a while I retreated to the furnace room for want of a better place). Stay in the secret place till the surrounding noises begin to fade out of your heart and a sense of God’s presence envelops you… Listen for the inward Voice till you learn to recognize it. Stop trying to compete with others. Give yourself to God and then be what and who you are without regard to what others think… Learn to pray inwardly every moment. After a while you can do this even while you work… Read less, but more of what is important to your inner life. Never let your mind remain scattered for very long. Call home your roving thoughts. Gaze on Christ with the eyes of your soul. Practice spiritual concentration. All the above is contingent upon a right relation to God through Christ and daily meditation on the Scriptures.

At Your Cross

This song reminds me to give everything to Jesus. It reminds me to be totally honest, surrendered in His presence; no walls, no distractions - just me and Him. Don't treat your time with God like a journal entry - a quick update on your life, not fully engaged because you're afraid that someone will read you or figure you out. Don't treat Him like a journal entry because fact is, He already knows you. Learn to be real with God, yourself and with others in His presence. This week, I want to encourage you to get in God's presence and s-t-r-e-t-c-h yourself. HOLD NOTHING BACK.

WAIT. REST. LISTEN.

I Hope You Dance...

Hey ladies I got this email this past week from a friend. I was really blown away by the awesomeness of dancing with God. Hope you enjoy see you gals tonight...
love Isabel

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word
Guidance
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".

"God, "u" and "i" dance."

God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God
abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.

A Calling vs. A Burden

I loved Thursday night... How often do we hear a calling from the Lord and turn it to glorify ourselves? I was so humbled. I thought about my own life, and the things the Lord has allowed me to love. Those are things He has intended to be a burden, but I created it to be my own calling. Therefore, when things went wrong, or still do for that matter, I take it personally.

A CALLING is something that will fulfill the longing in my heart; a BURDEN is something that will fulfill the Lord's heart. I want the burden, because when I hit the wall of opposition and I'm doing it for my own glory, I will FAIL. But if I'm doing it for the burden the Lord has put on my heart, I can do all things through HIM. When the enemy is waiting for the right moment to stand in front of me, I want to covered in His love, His protection, His covering. I want His burden in my life. I want to stand for Him and say, " I will do whatever it takes to glorify You." No enemy, no wall, no opposition has a hold on me. For I am my Father's, and I can do all things through Him. So Lord, put the burden on my heart... break me of things that I use to bring glory to myself. Break my heart for the things that break Your heart. I am here to be part of Your army... to establish Heaven on Earth....
